Good Morning! I just want to take a moment to thank Barrel 135 for all of their support with K's for Cancer and for nominating Justin Hilton for the 2013 Mardi Gras King. All week Barrel 135 will be hosting a silent auction with LOTS of great goodies. All proceeds will go to K's for Cancer. Make sure you drop buy for a quick bite to eat and make a few bids. Have a great week!

K'S FOR CANCER HISTORY
In 2008 Eric's closest friend was diagnosed with stage four colorectal cancer. The prognosis was not a good one, but despite the odds Justin Hilton (pictured with wife Leighanne and parents Catherine and Rex Hilton) overcame the challenge and lived most of the next four years with only the occasional hiccup in his treatment. On Sunday, January 6th, Justin quietly passed away surrounded by his family from complications related to his cancer. Was he beaten by cancer? Did he lose a difficult fight? Far from it. Anyone who knew Justin knew that losing was not acceptable, especially to cancer. K's for Cancer was started in 2012 in hopes of raising money to donate to the American Cancer Society (ACS). It was inspired by Justin's experience with cancer and love of baseball. Last year the GA Baseball Boosters made a $3 donation for every strikeout one of our pitchers made. We also sold t-shirts and bracelets, and accepted donations from families and organizations. In the end we were able to make a sizable donation to the ACS at the Relay for Life.
Justin's family has asked that in lieu of flowers, monetary donations be sent to the Justin Hilton Scholarship Fund (Montoursville HS) or K's for Cancer. Checks can be made payable to the GA Baseball Boosters and sent to Eric and myself. In the coming years Justin's family and friends will honor him by expanding the K's for Cancer charity and sending young boys and girls to college.
Eric and I, as well as Justin's family and friends, thank you for your continued support.

I "Pitched" In
In addition to preparing this year's shirts for raising money, Eric had 30 of the t-shirts autographed by baseball player Mike Mussina (pictured on the far right) and basketball player Kelly Mazzante (center.) To snag one of these t-shirts, make sure you attend games throughout the GA Baseball Season to purchase raffle tickets at the concession stand (located at the top of the hill behind the visitor's dug out.)
Let's cheer for our GA Blue Devils and hope for as many strike outs as possible to help others battling cancer!

2011 Baseball Season
This year Coach Eric Shaner of the Greencastle-Antrim Varsity Baseball Team created the charity K's for Cancer to raise money for the American Cancer Society. For each strikeout his pitchers pitched the G.A. Baseball Booster Club donated three dollars. Other organizations, businesses, and individuals contributed to this charity as well throughout the season. Coach Shaner and his players sold bracelets and t-shirts to raise awareness and funds as well. At the end of the season the boys raised over $1,400 to present to the American Cancer Society on May 18th at the Greencastle Relay for Life.
